For international rider and professional trainer Juan Ortiz, the first edition of AS Auction delivered something essential: confidence from the very beginning.
After discovering the collection online, Juan travelled to Belgium to try several horses in person. What impressed him most was how closely the horses matched everything he had already seen and read.

For Nick Palmgraff and the Hickory Ridge team, the first AS Auction came with a very welcome surprise: a collection whose quality and versatility matched the American market remarkably well.
Working across hunters, jumpers and equitation, from ponies through to five-star Grand Prix level, Nick immediately recognised the potential within the group.
His presence, expression and quality around the jumps made an instant impression, but it is his development since arriving in the United States that has made the team even more excited.
Now part of the Hickory Ridge programme, Thor continues to progress with a team that believes strongly in what lies ahead.

Trouble D stood out to Lauren before they had even met.
It was her first time buying through an auction and her first trip to Europe to try horses, but meeting Trouble D at Abdel’s stable quickly made the decision feel easy.
Extremely rideable, intelligent and kind, he learns almost immediately and always wants to work with his rider. As Lauren got to know him, the connection only became stronger.
Since moving to the United States, Trouble D has continued his development and already collected wins in young horse classes in Wellington. What started with one auction video has grown into the partnership Lauren had hoped for.

Mariana Frauches about Pepper Z

Marianna first met Pepper Z while the AS Auction was already underway, she saw him at Abdel’s stable and tried him several times.
Small in size but full of personality, Pepper Z combines a big stride with intelligence, rideability and plenty of fight in the ring. He learns quickly, gives his rider confidence and always wants to do his job.
Their partnership has continued to grow ever since. Now a CSI2 1.35m winner and 1* Grand Prix podium finisher, Pepper Z is already showing exactly what Marianna saw in him from the very beginning

Agadia was one of several horses that caught Bisher Kayali’s attention on the AS Auction website, but she quickly became the obvious choice.
With strong trust in Abdel’s experience and opinion, Bisher made the decision before ever sitting on her. A few days later, he travelled to Belgium, tried Agadia for the first time and immediately knew he had made the right call.
Power, scope and blood: for Bisher, she had everything he was looking for in a mare. Since then, their partnership has continued to develop, with Agadia stepping up successfully to the 1.40m level and producing strong performances on the international circuit.
The information available through the auction made the process smooth, while Abdel’s knowledge of the mare gave Bisher an even clearer understanding of how to bring out her best.
